Sweetwater Ribbon Cutting & 90th Anniversary
Fairfield Housing Authority proudly celebrated 90 years of service to our community — and officially cut the ribbon on our newest affordable housing community, Sweetwater.
The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) provides federal assistance to the FAHA which manages 298 units in Demetrius Newton Gardens and Mattie Gill Jackson Gardens.
FAHA is recognized as a housing community where everyone is held to a higher standard of accountability. This promotes the opportunity to “Build for a Better Tomorrow.”
Public housing is limited to low-income families and individuals. An HA determines your eligibility based on

The Fairfield Alabama Housing Authority proudly welcomes Mr. Julius D. Howard as our new Executive Director! With decades of experience in Alabama’s housing authorities and a lifelong commitment to community service, Mr. Howard brings passion, leadership, and a “people first” approach to FAHA. His vision is to strengthen our community by expanding opportunities, enhancing services, and empowering residents across Fairfield.
